This major addition and renovation is the first to demonstrate the new Campus Master Plan for the college developed by CS&P Architects in association with Urban Strategies Inc. Highly visible from an adjacent major highway, the new Learning Resource Centre contains lecture, seminar and meeting rooms, smart classrooms, staff offices and social spaces for over 2,500 students, and functions as the new public face for the campus. The building achieves exceptional energy conservation performance, with state of the art integrated technology, and was among Canada’s top three energy efficient post-secondary educational buildings when completed in 2003, with a rating 47% better than the model energy code.
