EEL was designed as a prototype for TDSB for the accommodation of grade 7/8 students in a collaborative learning environment. This project involved the renovation of an existing classroom space into an experiential laboratory for grade 7 and 8 students. The renovated space includes a tool shop, art room, science and technology lab and 2 classrooms.

The renovations were designed to enable TDSB’s new teaching and learning strategies to deliver the grade 7/8 Science and Technology curriculum. The new Experiential Lab engages students individually as well as in smaller or larger groups. The grade 7/8 Learning Community creates a new style of learning space configured to allow science, technology, visual arts and core programming to be delivered in an agile environment.
