The addition and renovation provides Macdonald Hall with a new fully accessible entrance facility with higher public visibility; a Moot Courtroom; and new teaching, administrative and computer learning facilities. The challenge was to take an existing university building and give it a new urban presence on the campus. This was achieved by creating a transparent and bright three-storey entrance hall atrium, which is highly visible from the street. The main facilities on each level have been expanded and opened up to users so that public circulation is more visible and welcoming and the learning environments are more integrated.
