Maureen has emerged as one of Canada’s leading voices to establish new directions in the planning and design of educational facilities. A Recognized Educational Facility Professional (REFP) and member of the Council of Educational Facilities Planners International (CEFPI), Maureen’s particular expertise is greatly appreciated by both her educational clients and her professional associates. Since joining CS&P Architects in 1994, she has made significant design contributions to many of the firm’s key educational projects. Maureen has also advised public school boards across Canada on major facility issues, including long range facility planning, new progressive school models, and program renewal for existing facilities. These projects typically involve extensive user group consultation and Maureen has been particularly successful in working closely with these large multi-faceted client groups to gain their consensus and support. Her creative and flexible design initiatives, based on extensive user group consultation, have improved the quality of learning for students of all ages. In addition, Maureen is a Director of “Schools for the Children of the World Canada,” a non-profit organization that helps build new schools in Honduras and Haiti. Her broad commitment and dedication are both exemplary for our profession.
