This ambitious urban revitalization project transforms historic Nelson Mandela Park Public School into a state-of-the-art JK-8 public school. Located in the heart of the Regent Park Community, the project consists of extensive renovations to the existing facility, as well as a new school library and main entrance addition. The program accommodates 660 pupil places, and within the facility includes a new 70-space City of Toronto Childcare Centre. The renovated school is connected to the new Regent Park Community and Employment Centre, also designed by CS&P, leveraging shared amenities to shape a vibrant sequence of new open spaces including a courtyard, a landscaped rooftop, a playing field, and a garden for school and community use. The project has achieved LEED Gold Certification.
