The Community Centre is located within the revitalized Regent Park Master Plan development. Envisioned as a vibrant community hub, the project consists of a new Recreation Centre, Childcare Centre, Employment Centre, and the renovation of the linked JK-8 Public School. The Community Centre program was developed through extensive community consultation and accommodates a double gym, a banquet hall, multi-purpose rooms, an employment centre, a community kitchen, a climbing wall, an extensive green roof and community rooftop garden, and a 70-space childcare facility. The potential of this mixed-use site is leveraged to enhance the programmatic and spatial opportunities for each user and create synergies where amenities can be shared. The building design targeted LEED Gold Certification.
